Alongside laboratory testing, ICA R&D provides specialist consulting on food quality and safety. The service is aimed at producers, processors and distributors who are developing new products, changing their technology, or need to meet regulatory or customer requirements.
What we offer
Consulting can cover product development and recipe adjustment, choosing and optimising process technology, drafting or reviewing the HACCP plan and prerequisite programmes, checking labels and mandatory information, and identifying the regulatory requirements that apply to a product or a market. Where needed, our recommendations are backed by analyses carried out in our laboratory.
Each project is defined together with the client: objectives, starting documents, timing and the form of the deliverable (report, recommendations, documentation).
Regulatory framework
Our work is based on EU and Romanian food law, in particular Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 (general principles), Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 (food hygiene and HACCP principles) and Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (food information to consumers), as well as legislation specific to each product category.
How we work
We start with an initial discussion to pin down your specific need, then send you a work proposal. Consulting does not replace the operator’s own responsibility for the safety of its products; it supports that responsibility with technical expertise.
